Most of them wonder if it is right to conceive immediately after marriage. Although this is ultimately a personal choice, there are many things one must consider:
Firstly, age: In the last few decades, the count of pregnant ladies between the age group of thirty-five and forty has increased compared to the women who were above forty. It is important for partners who are 35-40 years of age, to conceive immediately after they get married. Since, after thirty-five years of age the sperm count in men reduces and the ovary of a woman contracts, thereby, the fertility in women decreases. This leads to problem in conceiving in woman who are in the age range of 35 to 40 years.
Secondly, financial strength: Make sure to be financially fit before getting married, so that getting pregnant immediately after marriage would not result in sleepless nights. Most women in the US, become pregnant even before marriage, which should be avoided due to moral and financial grounds.
Consult a doctor – Most of the doctors recommend using contraceptive pills to avoid pregnancy just after marriage. This is applicable for women who are 20 to 30 years of age.
Take a decision together – Consent of both the partners is important while planning a baby. A couple should well plan their family even before marriage.
